Biography

Catalina Pop is a polyglot actress known for her versatility and international artistic path, working across theatre and film in multiple countries and languages ( english, french, romanian, italian).

On stage, she has performed in Romania (Cluj, Arad), Alberta, and  Quebec. She appeared in The Love of Phaedra by Sarah Kane, directed by Mihai Măniuţiu, a production awarded the UNITER Prize for Best Production in Romania (2007) at the Arad Classical Theatre. She later continued her work in Calgary and in Montreal, collaborating with companies such as Théâtre Singulier Pluriel, Théâtre aux Écuries, and Usine C, as well as working with theatre directors like Marie Brassard, Alexia Burger and Ximena Ferrer.

In film, she made her debut in Our remain lives  by Luiza Cocora, selected at the Cannes Film Festival and the TIFF. She later starred in The Coyote, earning a nomination for Revelation of the Year at the 2023 Gala Québec Cinéma. She lended her voice to Hotel Silence by Léa Pool. She also appears in Le filles et le garçons de mon âge (2024), awarded at two international festivals.
